Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer Degree in Elementary Education

Overview

The Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT) in Elementary Education degree is designed for students intending to transfer to an elementary education or teacher preparation program at an Oregon public university. The curriculum includes general education requirements along with coursework that supports preparation for future study in education and child development.

As an AAOT degree, this program provides a broad and flexible foundation for transfer. Students who transfer after completing the AAOT will have junior standing for registration and financial aid purposes at Oregon public universities; however, junior standing within a specific major is not guaranteed.

Because requirements for teacher preparation programs vary by university, students are strongly encouraged to work with an academic advisor and their intended transfer institution early. This helps ensure that course selections align with specific admission and program requirements and supports a smooth transfer process.
