A Warm Welcome from Our President for the 2026-27 School Year

MHCC President Dr. Lisa Skari with a Saint Bernard dog

Dear Saints,

This academic year, Mt. Hood Community College proudly embarks on its 60th anniversary. This means six decades of expanding access to education, strengthening our community, and supporting students like you in building meaningful futures. As you begin your journey at MHCC, I am honored to welcome you during this milestone year in our college’s history.

Within the pages of this catalog, you’ll find resources and information designed to guide you through your time as a Saint. At MHCC, our goal is to provide a high-quality education that helps you move confidently toward your future. With more than 100 professional programs and numerous transfer opportunities, you can explore your interests, build indemand skills, and discover a path that aligns with your goals.

We encourage you to take full advantage of the support available to you — from our student services hub to career planning and counseling. You’ll find dedicated professionals ready to help you navigate college life, explore careers, and plan your next steps. I also encourage you to get involved in campus life through the Associated Students of Mt. Hood Community College (ASMHCC). Student leadership and community connection are powerful parts of the college experience.

We recognize that many students face challenges related to unmet basic needs. MHCC is committed to helping you access support when you need it. Resources include mentorship programs, veteran support services, Barney’s Food Pantry, Head Start, financial resources, and the Equity and Community Resource Center.

Our college remains deeply committed to fostering a campus environment grounded in equity, access, and student success. We believe every student deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive, regardless of background or circumstance. We continually work to remove barriers and create a community where all students feel valued, supported, and safe.

As part of that commitment, and thanks to the historic bond measure recently passed by our community, you will see meaningful campus improvements this year, including facility upgrades that strengthen safety, expand accessibility, and enhance student spaces, including restroom updates designed to ensure inclusion for all.

Each student’s journey is unique, and you are not alone. Our faculty, staff, and administration are here to support you every step of the way. As we celebrate 60 years of service to this community, we look forward to helping you write the next chapter.

Welcome to MHCC, where your success is our priority.

Go Saints!

Dr. Lisa Skari
