Associate of Arts Transfer Degree (AAT)

The Associate of Arts Transfer (AAT) degree is a major-specific transfer degree designed for students who plan to continue their education at a public university in Oregon in a Bachelor of Arts (BA) program. These degrees include foundational coursework in a specific field of study, along with general education requirements that support transfer with junior standing.

AAT degrees are aligned with statewide Major Transfer Maps (MTMs), which are developed through collaboration between Oregon community colleges and public universities. MTMs are approved and maintained by the Higher Education Coordinating CommissionThese agreements help ensure that coursework transfers efficiently and applies toward degree requirements at participating institutions. In cases where junior standing within 90 credits is not feasible, students will transfer with academic standing comparable to students who began at the university in the same major.

Because requirements can vary by university and intended major, students are strongly encouraged to work with an academic advisor and identify their preferred transfer institution early. This helps ensure that course selections align with specific university requirements and supports a smooth transfer process.
